Tax exempt status

It has come to our attention that Ole Nydahl's Diamond Way Cult is now being investigated for fraud and may have their tax exempt charitable status removed. Let's hope they get well and truly exposed. :)

Relax man, enjoy life, why you need that hate?
If DW isn't good for you, you are free to go anywhere else.

If only DW followed their "message of peace" towards former members, instead of the constant harassment, personal attacks, hate mail and more that former members receive, let alone the idea of being "free to go anywhere else".

The cult's approach to anyone speaking out about the truth of DW seems to be to try to paint them as someone who is just hating for no reason. Let's face it, the evidence just doesn't stack up to support this idea though, does it?

What does any of this have to do with the story here - DW being investigated for financial fraud and having their tax status revoked?

The day DW has to pay tax like the commercial venture it is will be a happy day for all who have been conned.

Personally, I'm always wary when it comes to tantric Buddhism; while I don't doubt that there are plenty of genuine Vajrayana practitioners, there's too much opportunity for capitalization on Nu-Age culture when it comes to this denomination.
Lama Ole is like the Ted Haggard of Buddhists. I mean, come on: Diamond Way Magazine? That has "Megachurch" written all over it.

you are all right, Ole is the Kindergarden of materialism on a cosmic scale... Imagine ... Hr has never been alone !!!!

Its quite ineterresting when in DW they encourage critical thinking and good judgement but only to opinions and phenomena outside their cult. If you raise questions that concern their beliefs you have either A.ego-issues or B.you are mentally weak. -->"Use your brain but just do as Ole asks you to".

The whole system is pretty well organized since it seems to promise "A perfect package" = Be enlightened in this lifetime and become fearless and joyfull. That to me sounds completely unrealistic. A balanced person is not like that.

And by saying "These are the highest teachings and its not for everyone", they really know how to draw from a persons lack of self worth or low self esteem. Once you are in the center everything is upside down from real life. You are hugged, kissed and surrounded with a cotton-like atmosphere. But then when you go back home the realities hit hard and what better way to flee from that than to go back to the centre. Then of course you want to promote their actions so you start to give money to them especially, when you can see visibly on a wall how much others are donating.
